If you wish to verify the legitimacy of any email alleging or claiming to have been sent by or on behalf of UnitedHealth Group Executives or Recruiters, please call 1-80 between 7 a.m. UnitedHealth Group will never request you to pay a vendor or pay a fee of any sort to explore employment opportunities with our company. These counterfeit-check cashing schemes exist and use a variety of deceptions to get people to cash these fraudulent checks. The fraudulent LinkedIn messages and emails, which do not originate from any Executives LinkedIn account or of UnitedHealth Group’s email domains, or those of any of its operating divisions, supposedly conducts an interview via a Zoom meeting, offers a work from home job at Optum, emails an application, sends a fake check by next day delivery through USPS and asks recipients to pay a vendor a large dollar amount. But this was sometimes really hard to do, especially for undesirable shifts.We have received recent reports of fraudulent LinkedIn messages and emails alleging or claiming to be sent from UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealthcare, or Optum Executives. We were, however, allowed to swap shifts with each other as needed. We submitted our availability each month and shifts were assigned to us. Also, I'm sure that scribing in an outpatient setting would be different.ĮDIT: Also, I know this varies by program, but in mine we did not choose our own shifts. Your best bet would be to research the scribe jobs in your area as they may be more accommodating of current students. My program was small and independent, though-not affiliated with a large scribe company. For this reason, almost all of us were in gap years with the exception of a few medical students who were allowed to work super super part-time. I worked in the ER so this included day (7a-3p, 8a-4p), night (3p-11p), and overnight (11p-7a) shifts on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. In my program, part-time was around 20 hrs/week and we had a 1-year commitment. I think it will depend on a lot on the company/program you're scribing for.
